Geist Area Continues to Grow
FISHERS, IN – The Southeast corner of Hamilton County is seeing another building boom ignite in the area. New pockets of strip malls with spas, dry cleaners and beauty salons, restaurants, banks, and other businesses are appearing and improvements to the roads and schools are being made. And it seems that all this new construction continues to fuel the growth.
"There have been consultants predicting that the area around 104th Street and Olio Road, and for two or three miles around the lake, would be the hottest development area in eastern Hamilton County. And that is happening," said veteran Geist real estate developer and Century 21 Realtor Dick Richwine. Brooks Park, an Asset Midwest community, for example, illustrates one such development that has begun to accommodate custom home builders looking to live the Geist experience. Home owners in this community have all the conveniences of the Indianapolis metro area plus the luxury of the Geist Reservoir.
Not only does the lure of living close to the water for the scenery and the recreational opportunities account for a large percentage of this recent growth, but the reputation of the Hamilton Southeastern school system also plays a large role in the rush to secure a spot in the area.
And now, Simon Property Group has announced plans for an upscale regional mall in Saxony, a new–urbanist community just north of the reservoir, bringing even more conveniences and opportunities to the growing area. ![]()
